The Legacy of a Guard dog

Always the terror in the neighborhood,
Ferocious inside and outside the gate
of the house he stood to protect.
This one blue-eyed black dog
was unique of his kind indeed.
Many tried to kill him because
of his uncontrollable aggression.
However we forgave and
Stood by him.
And till his dwindling days,
he barked with his deep angry growl
at anything his intuition told him
was not right.
He barked till his last walk,
till his last breath.
This beautiful one blue-eyed black dog
has left us with a hole in our hearts.
